The historic center of Santarcangelo
is divided into two parts, the Medieval part
that rises above Monte Giove, home to more than 100 tufaceous grottoes
that are considered to be one of the most fascinating and intriguing
mysteries
of the Romagna region; and the part that dates back
to the 18th century
which can be seen spreading out from the foot of the hill.

Stroll
through the cobblestone streets of the old part of town and
your imagination
will hear the verses of such poets as Raffaello Baldini,
Tonino Guerra or Nino Pedretti
lifting into the air, or the echo of voices coming from the
stage in the Square
during the Festival del Teatro.
